I found a teeny wood-carved charm at an antique shop years ago with the idea to cast him in silver. The time just wasn't right and he was put in a box and almost forgotten about, apart from the occasional niggle in my brain reminding me to rescue him from the dark.
He is probably Hotei, one of the Shichi-Fukujin (Seven Lucky Gods) and is the god of happiness, generosity and luck, guardian of children, and a little obscurely, patron of barmen! Please correct me if I'm wrong...
Smooth and cool and a good weight in fine silver, marked with the 'Biku' stamp.
We all need a bit of good fortune, so I hope this little guy can bring you some.
