Regular price from April 1st (¥7500)
About your teacher:
Ria is an embroidery artist based in Tokyo, Japan, originally from Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Design from the Bandung Institute of Technology.
After working as a textile design lecturer in Bandung, she became a full-time stay-at-home mother while supporting her husband’s international career. During this time, embroidery evolved from a pastime into a meaningful medium for artistic expression.
She has created embroidery kits and authored a book for Leisure Arts in the United States, and has written tutorials for Love Embroidery Magazine. Her work was featured on the U.S. national television program The Balancing Act during Leisure Arts’ 50th anniversary celebration. She also collaborated with the Hong Kong–based luggage brand Lojel on an embroidery project, bringing her intricate designs to an international audience.
