Dye Day Vol. 1: Kimono Silk Bundle Dyeing with Petals 10:00-15:00
A slow, full day spent inside one beautiful process: bundle dyeing upcycled kimono silk with fresh blooms and dried petals.
We'll start by preparing and bundling your silk, choosing from a wide variety of petals to create your own one-of-a-kind piece. While your bundle steams, we'll pause for a little stitching, building a mini fabric collage from a curated collection of naturally dyed scraps. Then it's off for a delicious local lunch together before returning to unbundle and reveal your finished piece.
We'll close the day with a peek into my dye diary and dye storage, plus plenty of time for your questions.
Numbers are kept intentionally small, so everyone gets proper one-on-one attention.
By the end of the day, you'll take home a piece of naturally dyed kimono silk, ready to become a scarf, a wall hanging, or your next sewing project.
This one is rooted in mottainai for me: taking what's already here and finding the beauty waiting inside it.
I can't wait to share this with you. See you in the dye kitchen.
