A small-group, hands-on workshop where you'll learn basic sewing skills to make your own one-of-a-kind bolster cushion cover from curated vintage kimono fabrics.
Over 2 hours, Patricia will guide you through machine sewing basics, the meaning behind popular kimono motifs and the steps to making your own overlap-closure cushion. No zip, buttons or ties needed. The session is paced and practical, with time to try techniques and get individual guidance from Patricia, with Victoria as support teacher.
Perfect for complete beginners or anyone looking to add a touch of Japan to their interior decor.
What you'll learn:
- How to thread up a sewing machine and sew effectively
- Zig-zag stitch to prevent fraying
- A simple, repeatable pattern you can use again at home
What you'll make: A vintage kimono bolster cushion cover with an overlap closure. Inner cushion pads are available to pre-order and pay for on the day.
